Gallardia puchella is an excellent little flower that can brighten up any pot or flower border.

Double-Knockout roses are a great addition to any winter garden. They can be grown in pots or protected spaces to protect them from cold snaps.

Lirope muscari is a great border and mass planting that can be put in all year. Plant these is large swaths and you will be rewarded with a multitude of purple flowers next summer.
